Not much of interest going on with the Merc the past couple of days... drove the daughter to her dance outing on Tuesday, then took her to work yesterday, and the wife to the dentist this afternoon.
Whee!

I took my daughter to her weekly dance outing... then of to Meijer's for groceries... and coming home, it rolled over 140,000 far from trouble-free miles. In that vein of thought, the passenger-side headlamp burned out this evening... I was expecting it, because the driver-side lamp died a couple weeks ago. The BH 1976 headlight upgrade assures bright lights, but shortened headlamp life... but at least you can see what you're about to run over instead of wondering what you squashed in the dark.

The climate control began making a weird racket recently... the fan speeds up and slows down at will, and the roaring sound of MAX AC alternates with the soft swish of the "normal" AC mode. I know it has a broken Vent-Defrost door "hinge" and now it sounds like there may be further problems with the blend door.

But, it starts and runs reasonably well, and has no trouble getting out in front of traffic... so...

I hope I die soon, because this car is supposed to be my last car... and it probably doesn't have much reasonably efficient life left... yes, you can pour replacement parts on it all day long, but just how much perfume and lipstick can you toss at a pig and still expect it to smell and look pretty?

The Vic got some Ford logos for its wheel covers, and some touch up paint in the usual areas.

The 06 got an oil change.

So I spliced that 22 ga wire back in the other day, didn't cut any out, just made it longer and left it tied up nicely behind the bumper. Made it worse. About ten degrees higher. Don't understand how I could put a long piece of smaller gauge wire in and have it lower the resistance.

Today I cut the 22 ga wire out and spliced it back with just the 20 ga outside. Made it worse still. About four more degrees. It's now consistently about 24 degrees high. I really don't know what more I can do about this.

Washed it.
